Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP is the largest commercial disputes and arbitration law firm in the world. In September 2013, it opened its Sydney office and in April 2017, it expanded its Australian presence by opening its Perth office.
The Perth office is headed by one of Perth’s leading litigators, Paul D. Evans. Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Paul was the State Solicitor for Western Australia, for some five years, responsible for the Government of Western Australia’s civil and regulatory legal practice, following nearly 30 years as a commercial litigator with Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills).
Paul has advised clients in large commercial disputes for over 30 years and specialises in corporations law, competition and economic law and complex disputes, particularly in the resources sector.
Since returning to private practice Paul has been recognised as one of Perth’s Leading Lawyers in Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution and as a recommended Lawyer in Insolvency & Restructuring in Doyles Guide 2017 and was recognised in Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2019 – Australia for Insurance. He is also an adjunct Professor with Murdoch School of Law where he has taught Corporations Law over many years.
